The son of a German painter (Sandra Noble) and American Jazz Musician (Bill Davis), Mustafa was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, California in the USA. After attending college where he studied Photojournalism, Mustafa traversed overseas in search of ecstatic truth in art and independent stories to tell. He studied with acclaimed German filmmaker Stefan Tolz in the art of documentary filmmaking and studied with renowned German cinematographer Sorin Dragoi (Winner of 2004 German Cinematography Award). In 2003, Mustafa returned to the USA and completed his studies in filmmaking at the New York Film Academy (Universal Studios – Hollywood, CA) and graduated at the top of his class.
Mustafa, fluent in the Arabic language, relocated to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates and established the Media Division of the Tabah Foundation. There he held the executive positions of Media Division Director, Film Producer/Director and Media Advisor at the Tabah Foundation.
After four years working in the UAE, Mustafa relocated to Hollywood, California and founded his award winning production company Mustafa Davis Inc. Mustafa Davis Inc. produces feature documentary films, music videos, commercials, educational films, corporate videos, and short films. His production company provides film and photography services as well as official media consulting to several companies and non-profit organizations globally.
Mustafa is an internationally renowned photographer and has had his photography showcased in galleries and international exhibitions. Mustafa teaches film and photography courses and workshops and is sought after by high profile clients such as US Department Of State, US Embassy Malaysia, US Embassy Singapore, US Embassy Indonesia, Arts Council England, MediaCorp, UiTM, Michigan University, University Of Southern California, UCLA, Rutger’s University and others. Mustafa’s work has been showcased internationally on BBC, MTV, PBS, iTV, Rotana, Al Risala, Abu Dhabi TV, Dubai TV, Channel 1 Yemen TV, IQRA, TV Sudan, MBC, Al Aqariyya, KBC, Dream, and at international film festivals, screenings and exhibitions.
Along with Mustafa’s 15 years experience as a filmmaker and photographer, his production company incorporates over 50 years combined expertise with acclaimed award winning and four time Academy Award nominated producer Robert Richter and Golden Globe winning / French Editor of The Year, Ruth Schell, and many other professional filmmakers and photographers worldwide.
Mustafa currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, California USA and has offices in Hollywood and Dubai.
Razeef Mohd is a lecturer at the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia. A master’s graduate from RMIT University, Melbourne Australia, in the field of Animation & Interactive Media, he enjoys the challenges of creativity and attention to details within the creative medium. He is mainly involved in the animation, film and games industry and has a strong passion for the film and animation field. He is actively developing his skills of storytelling through the digital medium and shares the different perspectives within the art of storytelling. Fascinated with sign, symbols and subtext sparked him into developing his research mostly into symbolism within animated films and also discovering the different nature of storytelling. Symbolism has always been a source of wonder for him as he deepens his knowledge into looking for cultural symbols within animation. He is also actively involved in the film and broadcasting industry, where he used to be a producer and director, as well as hosting documentaries. He has produced a number of TV programs and documentaries locally and internationally. He has won numerous awards and recognition locally and his animated film was shortlisted for 2 categories in the recently Malaysian Digital Film Awards 2013 (MDfA’13). Currently, he is working on a historical documentary (P1NB, Dato’ Sir Onn Ja’afar), a feature length film (The River Warrior), and few animated short films.
